Feed the Homeless – Christmas Day
This year Christmas happens to fall on Sunday. The homeless task force is planning on feeding the homeless on Christmas day just like every Sunday of the year. The plan for Christmas Sunday is to feed the standard meal of sandwiches, fruit, coffee, juice and milk. We also want to give them a little something extra. Unfortunately, since it is Christmas morning, Whole Foods will be closed so we cannot pick up pastries.
We are looking for contributions from the congregation for the homeless this Christmas:
- cookies (preferably homemade)
- socks (new)
- T-shirts (clean out your t-shirt drawer)
- sweaters / coats (Clean out your closet, both men and women’s needed)
We typically serve around 120+ people on any Sunday morning. I will drop off 2 boxes and put them in the community hall labeled for homeless clothes and homeless cookies. Clothes can be dropped off anytime between now and Christmas, cookies should be dropped off Wed or Thurs of Christmas week. The office will be open Christmas week normal hours (Monday – Thursday, 9-5.)
If you want to come and help Christmas morning, be at the church between 7:30 and 8:00 in the community hall.
