Lauren Thompson – Accompanist
Lauren Thompson graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, in 2004, where she was a student of Ronald Shinn and double majored in Piano Performance and Business Administration. She continued her education at the University of Oklahoma, where she earned the Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy, studying pedagogy with Jane Magrath and Barbara Fast and piano with Ed Gates. Lauren was the 2003 Alabama Music Teachers’ Association College Piano Winner and the 2005 Music Teacher’s National Association Young Artist Piano Competition State Winner for Oklahoma. Lauren served as a graduate teaching assistant for the University of Oklahoma, and she has taught for Birmingham-Southern College and Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama as well as Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. Before moving to Austin in the fall of 2010, Lauren had the privilege of teaching at The New School for Music Study in Princeton, NJ.
