Lauren Thompson – Accompanist

Lauren ThompsonLauren Thompson graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, in 2004, where she was a student of Ronald Shinn and double majored in Piano Performance and Business Administration. She continued her education at the University of Oklahoma, where she earned the Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy, studying pedagogy with Jane Magrath and Barbara Fast and piano with Ed Gates. Lauren was the 2003 Alabama Music Teachers’ Association College Piano Winner and the 2005 Music Teacher’s National Association Young Artist Piano Competition State Winner for Oklahoma. Lauren served as a graduate teaching assistant for the University of Oklahoma, and she has taught for Birmingham-Southern College and Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama as well as Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. Before moving to Austin in the fall of 2010, Lauren had the privilege of teaching at The New School for Music Study in Princeton, NJ.

Sunday Worship Celebrations

9:15 am: imprints Celebration - An alternative service featuring Taize chants, body prayers, and guest artists.

10:30 am:

  • earthbound Celebration -  A small, intimate gathering with a playful mix of Nature-based and Christian elements.
  • Sunday School –  Something for everyone!
    • Children: Children K-5 have spiritual education Trinity style.  Lessons are based on the curriculum “A Joyful Path”, a progressive Christian children’s curriculum that celebrates a joy-filled life, compassion for all, and the wisdom found within.  Middle School and Sr. High Youth meet upstairs and enjoy lessons designed to encourage spiritual exploration and encourage community service.
    • Adults: Choose from Conversational Spanish, Meditation, Social Justice, and Trinity 101.

11:30 am: weave Celebration -  Blends alternative and traditional elements and features the Celebration Choir.
